Well but the husband works and lives in China, so it's natural to pay taxes there. I suppose wife and kids are supported financially by husband and she doesn't work, so why would they pay taxes?
- kspaans 11y agoThey are paying property taxes and consumption taxes. Though I'm not sure how much money you can receive, as a dependent, from outside of the country before the CRA comes knocking.
- cm3 11y agoOf course they are, but I assume they can easily circumvent income taxes by just using a card backed by the husband in China. Like a prolonged vacation where you rent the holiday home.
- mistermann 11y agoThe question isn't why would they pay taxes, the question is should the host country ask them to contribute monetarily to the community in which they live and from which they benefit? I think the answer to that is yes - a lot of people seem to disagree but seem reluctant to explain why.
