Any powershell guys out there?
I need to enable certain security audits solely through PowerShell. Is there anybody out there that can give me a hand?
- greenyoda 11y agoHave you tried looking on or asking a question on http://serverfault.com http://serverfault.com?
- alt_rox_haxer 11y agoNever heard of the site. Thanks for letting me know about it!
- millzlane 11y agoThere is also https://www.reddit.com/r/powershell/ https://www.reddit.com/r/powershell/
- zck 11y agoYou might want to be more descriptive in what you want. Do you want to hire someone to come in to your office to do this? Do you want emailed advice on how to do it? Do you have specific technical questions? You'll probably get better answers to more detailed prompts, rather than "can anybody give me a hand?"
- alt_rox_haxer 11y agoI just need assistance in doing it myself. Im a self-taught sysadmin, and dont really work with powershell all that often. I just need to write a script that enables certain security audits in a multiple workstation AD environment.
- zck 11y agoOk, what kind of assistance do you need? Note that someone reading your posts here would not be able to give you the help you want, with what you've currently written up. Specifically, someone who "just needs assistance" could be someone who can't even /spell/ Powershell, or someone who has a script that isn't quite working. Or somewhere in between those two.
- treebeard901 11y agoKeep in mind that many of the things that can be done in PowerShell are simply interfaces to existing non-PowerShell methods. Auditing, in a Windows environment, generally falls to the local security policy and/or group policy defined on a domain level. PowerShell can be used as the glue for the various aspects of the system that can be audited but Powershell by itself is probably not the best tool to accomplish what you need.
