Distilling water with an activated carbon filter does remove everything.

  Sure, how much does that system cost and does it actually taste good to drink? I've heard distilled water tastes horrible.

    if you remove everything from the water with this method, or any other method, there is systems to re-mineralize water... (Reverse osmosis would also remove most of the lead)
