Nearly all electricity use, no matter how it's generated, ends up as waste heat. It doesn't make a difference to the global climate if that heat is released in a nuclear power plant's cooling tower or a person's living room TV and electric hot water heater. It's still ultimately heat.
The best we might hope to do? You might want to look up the geoengineering ideas floating around. Capturing carbon isn't the only possibility - and it sounds like it won't help in the short term anyway. Another approach is to reflect more sunlight, or perhaps capture water vapor - a more powerful greenhouse gas than CO2 and the major contributor to the greenhouse effect on Earth.
