- rdl 11y agoTEB + JATO + Boom = Profit? (TEB-LCY would actually be an interesting market for all-business-class STOL transatlantic)
- GavinMcG 11y agoThat's Teterboro Airport + Jet Assisted Takeoff, and (Teterboro-London City Airport) for those like me who aren't in the know.
- ckinnan 11y agoCorrect-- the real problem with air travel isn't the flight time but the terrible and inefficient process on the ground with security, customs, baggage claim. I'd much prefer a longer flight in a slower, less aerodynamic plane that was safer and roomier.
- rdl 11y agoI wonder if there's a market for premium private air terminals, or even entire airports.
- ghaff 11y agoRoomier classes in planes (as well as private air terminals for private planes) are all things that pretty much exist today; you just need to be willing and able to pay a huge premium for them. (Both because the costs are higher and they're priced for a less-sensitive clientele.)
- fudged71 11y agoWhat are the odds that VC's funneling cash into Boom would build dedicated airports for these? :)
- jandrese 11y agoDidn't the Concorde have special security lines to let you get to the plane much faster than usual?
