- conover 17y agoThis always reminds of me of Dijkstra's quote: Computer science is no more about computers than astronomy is about telescopes.
- nollidge 17y agoI love this quote. My interpretation is that he's saying computers are merely tools for exploration, like how telescopes are just tools to the astronomer.
- ldh 17y agoWhile there is an art to the day-to-day craft of programming, computer science proper most definitely has mathematical underpinnings. There's a reason computer science doesn't belong to the art departments in universities.
