Interesting perspective of gentrification from somewhere I know little about (an Atlantan suburb). The neighborhood I grew up in (Lower east side of New York City) is gentrifying these days as well. It's a bit disorienting for me to think that if I moved back (these new rents are insane, but I can pay it) I'd become the gentrify-er. Personally, I'm more interested to read about the forces precipitating gentrification than about the effects of it (which I think can be quite mixed and subjective).
