Well, what do you want out of the situation? If you had the honest conversation that you weren't happy, it sounds like you got what you wanted. If you did/do still want equity, take the advice of others: Take all of your paperwork to a lawyer and stop talking to anyone else. Personally (having just resigned <4 weeks ago, 10 days before my vesting), I think this sounds like the right thing to do. No reason to prolong an unhappy situation just to end up with equity when you want out anyway.
