I use a lying DNS resolver where possible (my VPN, my home router). It redirects any ad-stuff to an nginx server that happily replies "204 No Content" to anything you ask it. I had an adblocker at work until someone pushed a corporate admin-managed Chrome on my machine and I can't install and adblocker anymore.
