That isn't clear to me. Computers are good at arithmetic and sequential algorithms by design, but those are also applications of their power, and categorizing them by the intended application is also pretty dumb. It is the tricks and happy accidents that propel a lot of innovation - indeed, the fact that such has happened is one the numerous challenges to positivism.
