I think ad blockers will "destroy" the web in the same way that file sharing "destroyed" the entertainment industry. There will be skirmishes back and forth with no clear victor until new platforms spring up which allow for an alternative which is acceptable for both producers and consumers, if not ideal for anyone. I just hope that it doesn't degenerate into the same toxic legal battles where the entrenched corporations go after individual consumers for ludicrous amounts of money. It's already starting to sound like that when you hear claims about the supposed $22+ billion that adblockers are costing the industry.
