  Yes. In fact go routines and channels are touted as an implementation of Tony Hoare's CSP -- Communicating Sequential Processes.

  Somewhat, except goroutines have shared memory and the tradeoffs that come from that. Also, much better tooling around Erlang processes than goroutines.
