Ask HN: What would you go back to school for?

For those mid-career, mid-40's types who frequent this site, and are also at a stage where a post-bac or graduate degree would not equal a salary gain, do you consider continuing formal education? If so, what for? In my case, time has gotten me as far as I will likely go salary wise (data management), and am considering a graduate degree in Statistics to broaden horizons and opportunity choice, instead of deepening the salary path.
