Francis Collins? said something like: people underestimate the change in the short term and overestimate it in the long term (there is my flying DeLorean and the hotel on the Moon).
- adenadel 11y agoI think you got it backwards. Bill Gates said "We always overestimate the change that will occur in the next two years and underestimate the change that will occur in the next ten. Don't let yourself be lulled into inaction."
- d0mine 11y agoI meant what I said (and I didn't mean the Gates' quote). There are no flying DeLoreans (Back to the Future). There are no hotels on the Moon (Mad Man). People overestimate long-term (20+ years) change. It just shows once more that for any maxim there is a maxim with the opposite meaning.
