If you're in the US, go shopping for a pickup truck. Ford, RAM, and Chevy will all come off the list price (shown on the Monroney Sticker) by $8000 or more with practically no arm twisting. Sure, it's the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price. But the signal I get from this is that the vehicle was never worth that much.
