I agree, it does seem suspicious. The other thing I noticed is that the top of the hat/headdress is scanned accurately, which would be difficult unless you held the scanner in an obvious manner above the statue.
- gr3yh47 11y agothe article addresses this directly as well > In order to get coverage of the top of the headdress, the scanner would have to be held high above the statue, and not at waist level as the video indicates.
