I wonder what the Gini coefficient of karma scores is. (In the sense of "legitimately curious" rather than "attempting to make a joke which will further concentrate karma in the hands of the 0.001%.")
- minimaxir 11y agoKarma is not a zero-sum game, though. There is such a thing as a free upvote.
- patio11 11y agoThe same is true of wealth generally. (c.f. my favorite PG essay: http://paulgraham.com/wealth.htm http://paulgraham.com/wealth.htm ) Just like "Post a comment; people shower it with karma" is positive-sum activity, many efforts in the wider economy are positive-sum. That's why we don't eat grubs and use leeches for treatment.
