That Aldi is not the same as the other Aldi. There are two independent Aldis (Nord and Süd) since the 60s, and typically only one of them is present in each country. The USA is an exception so one of them is called Trader Joe's.
- SeanLuke 11y agoSorta. Trader Joe's was founded in 1958 and was purchased by Aldi Nord in 1979. Aldi USA is a very recent thing.
