I lived in Austin 1996-97 and I loved it. Swimming in Barton Springs pool is one of my favorite things to do. However, if you have a problem with heat, be warned. In the summer you expect 100 degrees every day. I like the heat, but it can be oppressive. All the good things that other people are saying are accurate.
