Turnarounds are especially tough when you are in a business where people are your best asset. You can't just make changes, because you have rot in the system. Doubly worse when you are a micro-manager, rather than a charismatic leader. IMO, Yahoo needed more than a strategist. Even the good Yahoo products, like Finance, as ridiculously bloated and buggy.
