Discover How To Use Google Buzz and Turn It Off completely
- ableal 17y agoNice walk-through screenshots for those who, like me, haven't yet bothered/dared to click the "okay" button on the "Welcome to Buzz" message.
- yogeshmankani 17y agoLolz..I click the"okay" and discovered all this. Thanks for liking the post.
- ableal 17y agoI liked it well enough to think "this is what Google should have put up instead of that bada-boom splash screen". Thanks for the timely write-up. Problem with these things is not quite knowing what you're getting into - as witnessed by the yelps of surprise/outrage going around. Then having to spend time digging up obscure settings and tweaking lists. Then still not knowing if all the peepholes are plugged ...
- yogeshmankani 17y agoYa even there are still many things which is really annoying about this big bash Google Buzz..Hope they can fix it asap. Thanks for the heads up.
- pasbesoin 17y ago"haven't dared" Very well put. I'm afraid to walk through the sign up process because of all the exposure it apparently turns on. E.g. creating a public Google profile. I don't WANT a public profile, and I don't want to spend a bunch time hunting down and turning off all the things that the Buzz flow apparently turns on -- and worrying about what I've missed. E.g. it hooks into my Reader account? Picasa? Good grief! I tend to remain respectful of HN and to try to keep my discourse constructive as well as emotionally balanced, but I really can find no other suitably expressive comment upon this than, "Fuck you, Google."
