- florianletsch 11y agoMacPass is excellent. It finally helped me completely move to a password manager based life.
- softawre 11y agoHow is it better than KeyPassX? I (think I) want my manager to be simple..
- hollander 11y agoIt's native, much better user interface. Downside - for now: it's alpha, not even beta yet, so better keep a backup of your database.
- spurgu 11y agoExcept it can't synchronise (edit: yet) so it's useless for multiple users.
- CaptSpify 11y agoI found 2.0 to be worse, but that's just my subjective opinion. I don't have a mac, so maybe that's a difference?
- wwarren 11y agoI think 2.0 fixed a lot of things, but the interface is still pretty painful (my opinion). Still usable of course, like I said I use it all day every day. Haven't tried MacPass but it looks great and I will give it a whirl. Thanks!
- rcthompson 11y agoA warning about Macpass: After I saved my Keepass database with Macpass, KeepassX couldn't open it any more. So keep a backup unless you're sure you want to switch permanently. This probably applies to switching from any password manager to any other, honestly. (I think I was able to fix it in that case by opening and saving it with Keepass.)
- spurgu 11y ago> by opening and saving it with Keepass The mono version?
- rcthompson 11y agoI don't remember exactly how I fixed it. The point is, have a backup, and don't use Macpass to do any editing until you're sure you want it.
