I was wondering the same thing - Friction between material layers with movement + an very low loss insulation layer would qualify as "self heating"...kinda.
I'm more interested in the SolarCore AeroGel they created, and its actual insulation properties when compared to pure "Legacy Aerogel" - I'd imagine incorporating it into a fabric like substance would significantly decrease its insulating ability
- OROSapparel 11y agoVery true. Pure silica aerogel = 18-20 mW/mK Solarcore = ~28 mW/mK
