If you don't have friends you meet with outside work or roommates I imagine that would drive me crazy. I have teleworked with a roommate present, alone and married and the only time I felt depressed was when I was trying to do it alone. I do agree that completely killing off offices or coworking spaces seems like something that will (hopefully) never happen. It is nice to work in a space where everyone has the same energy and interests. I find myself needing to recharge off that periodically.
