So, it looks like at the moment Descartes is basically SASS or LESS, but in JavaScript. My reaction to that is, 'uh, okay, sure, why not.' However, where Descartes starts to get really interesting, is if it began to provide a substantially higher abstraction layer over CSS. I'm probably not the only person who finds CSS pretty annoying. I would love to be able to do layout styling at a level closer to the way that I think about page design. That's not necessarily an easy thing to implement, but a little bit of functionality in that direction would go a long way.
