Hi! I wrote this. General information about it can be found on the about page (https://www.pressrise.org/about https://www.pressrise.org/about). Basically it's a traditional, broad-base news aggregator (think Google News or Apple News) that ranks stories based on journalistic reviews submitted by the community. The goal is for readers to be conscientious of and informed about the journalistic integrity of what they're reading, while they're consuming news items. The value being a more connected and informed public. In its biggest endgame form, I envision it as being sort of like a Yelp for news media someday. It doesn't require an email, so it's pretty easy to try out. Sign up with just a username and password.
