ReactOS 0.4.0 Released
- orionblastar 11y agoI've been waiting for this, I donated money so they can reach the 0.4.0 version. They have made a lot of improvements on it and added more hardware support like USB and Sound cards. Even added a virtual 16 bit machine to run DOS code. It is not ready for prime time yet, but it can be run in a virtual machine. It is a Windows alternative that can run some Windows programs and shares code with the WINE project. It uses a low memory footprint, so you can install Apache, MYSQL, PHP etc on it and use it as a server. They are trying to make it XP/2003 compatible. So it is really designed for older Windows technology.
