Nabla: I'm going to say you are a special flower. You're smarter than 98% of people. You are 1 in 50 special. I think from your own words you would have benefited greatly from gifted education. Thinking about your story here, I think that maybe lowering the IQ bar to something like 125 is exactly what gifted education needs. Look at what you said: "I could cope with everything and everyone if I tried even a little." You were coping, and getting by. You are calling it laziness but maybe it was boredom? Maybe after being bored and unchallenged you became "lazy" at school. I would bet that you were very interested in your own activities that you were interested in. If we opened up gifted education to 120+ there would be enough students to have a decent sized class in suburban schools.
