This ain't news to me; I'm sure just about most self-aware persons are capable of (or already have) come to the conclusion that social media is cancerous for a positive mental state. That's not even mentioning the data mining and privacy issues that arise from such high profile companies having access to such thorough personal information. For them, it's business as usual and a rather understandable response. If you have such info at hand, why not use it to further expand your business? Unfortunately this thought process results in active harm to users (disregarding purposeful malice altogether). I am so thankful that I ditched social media consumption back in high school.
