- tomp 11y agoIt's wrong because s/he assumes that men collect money to "have power over women". That's a 180 degree wrong perception of reality. Men gather money to have power over other men! By being the "best man" (rockstar, CEO, famous actor, mafia boss, most popular kid in high school, a prince), and having the greatest social status, you get disproportionate access to women/sex; it doesn't really matter if it's money that gives you power or something else, it's just that money is increasingly important in our world.
- littletimmy 11y agoI think your argument presupposes that women have no say in the matter. Like you're talking about men beating other men to have "access" to women, as if that's all that's needed. I personally believe that women have more agency than that, and they gravitate towards richer men. That establishes my earlier post - rich men have power over women.
- tomp 11y agoObviously women have agency; it just happens that they choose (in average) similar things. Like money (and fame). Men observe that and learn. And compete with other men to be chosen. Edit: Ah, forget it. I don't think there's much point in my (second) comment; we're basically saying the same thing with slightly different words.
