Sparkle dropped support for OS X 10.6 at some point, so that's probably a reason for some apps continuing to use older versions.
- masklinn 11y agoThat's a good point, but 10.6 support was dropped in 1.7.0 so technically the 1.5s should be able to run 1.6.1. Also I undercounted the number of old versions, turns out ancient sparkles didn't have a CFBundleShortVersionString in their plist and I also have a bunch of Sparkle 1.0 and 1.1 lying around.
