I had trouble learning social skills, but I didn't have many of the other symptoms. Taking one of the self-diagnosis tests from my perspective as a teenager, I would have been diagnosed. However, the problem was that I had different interests than my peers, and I had a different sexual orientation that I had difficulty in accepting. Once I found "my people," my social skills improved dramatically. AS does exist, but not all people with poor social skills have it.
