I had exactly the same thoughts. It is a great shame to see what the Turnbull government is doing to Australia's pride and joy of scientific research. The cuts have been going on for some years now under the Liberal government and it is having a devastating effect on staff morale.

This change to CSIRO has nothing to do with Turnbull either, it's a head count neutral internal reorganisation
