Watson is the only new product to catch fire, otherwise they are competing and losing to Oracle and Microsoft. Softlayer is an alsoran. They bought cloudant instead of mongodb. The only thing they do well is consulting and even then they are expensive. They appear to be several years behind their competitors with little chance of catching up.
