One potential downside is around long term effects of hired guns on morale of the people who keep the lights on. Pay gap is stark in Silicon Valley and a concept like this might re-enforce that.
- nedwin 11y agoI've heard similar arguments against "labs" teams. "everyone should own innovation in an organization versus a specific team". I think there is culture risk as a result but if it's delivering results and if the rest of the org isn't able to be as agile/innovative then it's done for a reason.
