Here's the reason I included them. It should be quick to add from the company perspective, and from the investor's perspective, those are what you need to know initially to know whether the investment is even right for you. For example, if you are angel and the company is raising $2M, it's not a fit.
- DanielBMarkham 17y agoSee here's the deal: it is highly unlikely that anybody is going to start a funding conversation based on a spreadsheet. These things are herd-mentality, word-of-mouth, and friend-of-a-friend. People are so paranoid about losing their money that they prefer to do it in groups and with people that make them feel warm and fuzzy. Now that's probably not the most rational way to be but that's the way it is. So if you want a list of HN startups that are in some sort of funding stage? It might make a nice resource. A bit of trivia. But if you're seriously looking to make a resource to hook up startups and investors? Technology probably isn't going to do it. It's not a technological problem. By the way, if there are any Angels out there reading this who are interested in real-time social media aggregation, I'm both warm and fuzzy and loved by investors everywhere. I'm also willing to relocate to where you are in order to make a true partnership work. And I'm very close to beta.
