Alsop is an asshat. But Musk decided to stoop to his level and prove him right. This doesn't really bode well for his reputation, and might call into question his bold assertions (especially for SpaceX) and how much water they might hold if he can't even handle someone being petty towards his launch event. The man's obviously brilliant. But there are a lot of other brilliant men and women who don't get the credo and also don't get their flaws overlooked because of celebrity. Hopefully this is a sobering reminder that it's good not to take anyone's personality at face value until you get to know them well.
