I suppose buses are similar, but at least for long haul truck drivers you have much more freedom in the way things are going. Need to take a bathroom break? Pull over at the next rest area? Hungry? Stop and get food. You can't exactly pull a train over at the next gas station if you need to grab a coffee or some Advil. That's a huge difference right there.
