Who pays for news? Döpfner’s question to Google still unanswered 2 years later
- stevep2007 11y agoAxel Springer's chief Döpfner’s 2014 open letter to Eric Schmidt asking "Why we fear Google" caught my attention. Google isn't the problem - if it disappeared Facebook and so many other companies would take its place as the object of Döpfner’s question. Google should have been replaced by the internet. Nevertheless - a free and open press is at stake.
