It's not used in production, it's used in "corp" which is totally disjoint from production at Google.
- detaro 11y agoHow is that not "using it in production"? Internal usage is still production usage.
- mwpmaybe 11y agoWhen Google, Facebook, etc. refer to "production" they typically mean google.com, facebook.com, etc. EDIT: If you're going to down-vote this comment, at least provide detaro with the correct answer to his/her question!
- sangnoir 11y agoI didn't downvote, but your statement in no way refutes parent argument. Typically =/= always. It's similar to someone declaring "HN was down", and you reply by saying "HN is typically up"
- mwpmaybe 11y agoIt was more like someone saying, "Foo is not bar," someone else saying, "How is foo not bar? Bar is bar," and then me saying, "Because bar has a different meaning, colloquially, at certain companies."
- fishnchips 11y agoAt least 2 years ago it was already not always the case and things were moving towards unification rather than the other way around. Unless the general direction has drastically changed since I left I can only assume your statement is even less accurate now than it used to be.
- thrownaway2424 11y agoYou're right but this particular piece of software is an artifact of the old way, not the new unified way.
