How about starting with a sustainable moonbase.
- Symmetry 11y agoI'm a fan of moonbases myself but there are reasons why Mars might be easier. An atmosphere and a ~24 hour day make heat management less of an issue and solar power easier to do. Plus there's all this carbon floating around in the air you can work with. The Moon's big advantages are that it's close and it's easier to get up and down its gravity well. I think that makes it better for a non-self-sustaining. base but probably worse otherwise.
