I love C# and find the syntax of golang... primitive. However, the green-thread/channel combination is powerful. It is not just that it is performant (it is) but that it is x10 the code and mental overhead to use compared to something like the TPL (task parallel library for you non .Net-ers). So I'd caution against comparing C#.Net to golang. C# Async/Await is fine for event processing but it doesn't match golang channels. And channels are really the defining feature of golang.
