I've ended up using third party apps that aren't sold through the app store. More and more developers are getting sick of apples shit, and a lot of good-enough alternatives exist out there that you can have a decent setup without dealing with it. The app store is such a clusterfuck anyway, I hardly ever open it except by accident.
