One of the reasons you need to pick hosted services very carefully is just this type of scenario. Especially when you are deciding where your data lives. I give a tremendous amount of respect though to the Parse team for open sourcing the server. Like holy crap they released their entire code base. It must have been especially tough since you have to go through it and clean everything up. Too bad they didn't include the commit history (I certainly understand why they did it). Commit histories are generally the most interesting.
