While I do not particularly often take part in meetings, I know of some colleagues who often go and have programming to do. I really can see the stress in their eyes, when the meetings for the day are over shortly after lunch time and they have a lot (a lot) of coding still to do. Also there are two kinds of incompetent people: those knowing (or somehow "sensing") they have "to learn a lot" and those thinking they are king (don't even know about basic CS stuff).
