Chrome has a feature to request the desktop version of the web site and lots of other browsers will let you spoof the user agent to avoid being served "mobile" versions of the web sites.
- makecheck 11y agoIt doesn't really address the whole problem, as sites try to be too "smart" (e.g. examining the apparent size of the screen, possibly because there are so many possible devices/browsers out there). My hope is that web sites simply stop trying to be special and just admit that maybe large mobile screens are quite good at handling normal web sites.
- e28eta 11y agoPress and hold the refresh button in Safari to get a popover with "Request Desktop Site" as an option. It's also in the action menu
