I'm waiting on the day something like this gets proposed in all of the EU states, for the same BS reasons. As a matter of fact, I'm certain that current leaders of the EU countries who publicly invited immigrants to their state (we all know the most prominent one), was considering this as a easy way to change the privacy laws - and be applauded for it.
