Don't be too dismayed by that. When I made my first software sale I also sent a similar message to the customer. In retrospect, while not a rookie mistake, it was rookie over-enthusiasm :) Looking at some of my old stats, it's probably realistic to expect at most 10% of people to respond to that kind of email.
