There is at least one thread where there's already been confusion around it.
At first, I thought this would be from someone who worked at GitHub, because I didn't understand why else it got upvoted.

I guess it got upvoted because people liked what it said and/or thought it contributed to the ongoing discussion here on HN. We're generally not too terribly authoritarian and/or credentialist around here.
