I guess some people might be approaching this from a place of entitlement and justification like you say. But you should consider that my experience is most people view the idea that some for-profit entity owns culture or can tell them that it's immoral to share media with each other to be laughable. Like if HN decided that any criticism of products posted here was unacceptable and someone called those who still posted constructive criticism "entitled". I'm not saying it's that simple, but understanding the viewpoint will help you understand what's going on.
